Valor Chimney Services

Great service. Having used several larger Chimney sweep providers, I was looking for a more personal and detailed service. That is Valor to the T. Great work, detailed services and the best education in a service I've had. David explained every step in detail, what they were looking for during cleaning and inspection and made me feel like I was learning from a professional. Highly recommend Valor.

As a new homeowner, I felt that Valor Chimney did a fantastic job both in their initial evaluation as well as their organization in addressing the issues on a priority basis. With respect to general cleaning, their work is A+, and resolving problems to promote the health of the fireplace/chimney system were completed on time and for reasonable pricing. Dave and Victor were both personable and straight-shooting as far as how they communicate to me as their customer. They respected my interests, and listened to my concerns. Definitely will be looking forward to having them service my chimney again in the years to come!!

David and crew were absolutely fantastic to work with. Quick to respond, arrived on time, and excellent service-exactly what we needed and quoted us for things we plan on fixing. David was extremely knowledgeable and taught us about proper care and proper maintenance. We look forward to using Valor in the future!

"What's that burning smell?" Running to the (new to me) Majestic gas fireplace I saw a large scorch mark on the fire panels and quickly turned it off. I took some photos and sent them to the fireplace company that last serviced the unit. They had no answer as to what caused this and left me wondering what to do next. There are only a handful of companies who will even touch a Majestic fireplace I sadly discovered while trying to find someone else to come to see this mystery. Undaunted, I insisted the original company return to the scene and help me out. Weeks later, their technician arrived: turned it on, turned it off and as he departed with a quizzical look on his face, he handed me a business card for Valor Chimney.

I sent the same photos to Dave from Valor at the email address on the card, and his team called and arranged an onsite visit to check things out. Valor sent text verification of the appointment and reminders too. Dave and his assistant were on time and very courteous. During my initial inspection, Dave seemed to think the problem might be up on the roof, and they took a peek providing a report along with a set of photos to show me what was going on at the completion of their visit. Back in the house Dave explained how the venting was installed, the problem that I was having with the vent on the roof which contributed to the issue inside, and what was needed to thoroughly clean and service this fireplace. ("Didn't the other company just do that?" I now wondered) He was also kind enough to remove a dead bird who found its way into the enclosed fireplace after the vent cap was inspected. A thorough estimate was provided and the appointment was set on the spot along with my deposit to install a new 'efficient' vent cap, an appropriate cleaning of the entire system and a repainting too.

Then the Covid-19 Stay At Home Order was issued and only 'essential businesses' were exempted. Lucky for me, that meant that Valor was coming to my home to help me out - a day earlier than we had originally scheduled!

I watched as my fireplace components were thoroughly disassembled and cleaned, the entire time the process was explained to me. The interior chamber cleaning located some unexpected house guests including a mummified grasshopper, (a first in his book Dave commented), some spider's nests (so that's where they were coming from last spring), and what looked like Mothra's baby cousin. After everything was cleaned inside, new (stinky!) fire-resistant paint was carefully applied to the chamber and components (yay, no overspray!).

As the paint was drying, the service continued outside,the system was also cleaned from the top down and the new cap was installed. A final assembly of the components inside along with clean-up, a detailed bill, warranty explanation and payment followed. The service report with photos arrived almost immediately.

Despite its age, the fireplace is safe, looks brand new with a spiffy paint job inside and on the roof a shiny new cover with no chance of unexpected bird visitors and better ventilation gleams in the sun.

I am very impressed with Valor Chimney Services and highly recommend them.

Always knowledgable, helpful, efficient, honest, and effective. Have worked with David over the past 3 years for both our chimney and dryer vent. Can't say enough good things.

I called for information about having a gas log installed in my existing fireplace. The first thing i was told is that they have a $380 MINIMUM fee for an log installation, plus any parts. That's where the conversation ended.

Now, read their response to my review:

"Wow, can't say that didn't hurt. As the result of your defaming review, Valor Chimney will NO LONGER INSTALL ANYTHING PRE-PURCHASED BY UN-EDUCATED PERSONS, such as yourself. So, ultimately, Thank You. This will make our lives much easier. Now we know why cowards like you only type INITIALS for identification."

It's been a pleasure working with Valor. From the first call to the time of installation there was great communication. We had concerns after the arctic freeze in January. David came to our house listened to our concerns then did an inspection both inside and out. Recommendations were made and even a suggestion on how to improve the outside chase. Another company made some recommendations and David told us they weren't necessary so that saved us money. We decided to hire Valor to take on our project. David and Barbie completed the job in the estimated time they told us. The fireplace is beautiful and actually warms our room unlike before. David is passionate about his work and it shows. He's very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. We've already recommended him to friends for their fireplace/chimney needs.

I would highly recommend Valor Chimney. Dave knew his stuff and the guys who worked on the chimney were punctual, very courteous and thorough I their work. Plus they took pictures of their work in progress inside and on top of the roof which I loved.

I would definitely use them again!

David was VERY helpful and very nice. I knew nothing about my fire place and he checked it all out with a formal inspection and taught me how to use it. Chimney as well! Completely recommended!

Outstanding. Job. Explained the process and very thorough. Took about 1 1/2 hours did not rush. Also took before and after photos. After was spotless chimney. Certified also inspector and found very trustworthy. I had another company out "ear... t... " it as a young inexperienced guy with little equipment and tried to tell me my wood burning magestic fireplace is not supposed to burn wood ! Valor even showed me a photo of the plate on the flu to show wood or ceramic.
